About

Castanet Clap is a blog dedicated to the entertainment industry, primarily production (of film, television, music, etc). At least that’s our story and we’re sticking to it. Any deviation from the pattern happens at the will of its mercurial writers, all aspiring folk obsessed with and intrigued by a wide variety of sounds, visuals, words, and events that make up entertainment production.

Meet Me

I’m Chanelle Berlin Johnson. I write for Stereo Subversion, Green Shoelace: LA and Examiner. I work with Current TV. I managed a band called This Is How Rumors Get Started. Audio is generally the name of my game, and I’m just trying to not to be tagged out as I try to make things happen in Los Angeles.

Guest Writers

The name’s Mikel Patrice Bossette (that’s Mikel like my-kel). Chanelle invited me on board to offer another perspective of the business and go into other facets of it. Currently, I’m in film school in San Francisco, so naturally, I’ll keep a focus on motion pictures, but don’t count me out of the musical side. A movie is little without it’s soundtrack. I’m tracing the path toward the entertainment industry. Not many credits to my name yet. Nothing official or on paper anyway.

I managed a band in Los Angeles going by The Ethelreds.

I’ve directed a few student plays, one of which was recognized by the writer, Thomas Dutton of Forgive Durden.

Hey there, I’m Marianna C. Terzakis, but I answer to a whole bunch of things, up to and including: hey, you! I graduated college in Massachusetts with a degree I appreciate but will likely never use, and want to write for television as soon as I can get my act together. Up next: actually moving to LA and harassing Chanelle Berlin as much as possible.
